BNP Paribas said it acquired 27 pct of Geojit Financial Services in India, and plans to raise its stake to a minimum of 34.35 pct by subscribing to a capital hike.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
The tie-up with Geojit, which has a presence in the United Arab Emirates, will let BNP Paribas increase its activity in India and the Middle East. Among projects planned is a joint venture financial company in Saudi Arabia.
